Bailey's Crossroads, VA Real Estate

There may not be an elephant buried at the crossroads but the namesake for this Northern Virginia community is credited to the Bailey circus family. Bailey’s Crossroads is situated across an expanse of level ground and is bounded on the west by Munson’s Hill. The area rose to prominence during the American Civil War when the Confederate Army took Bailey’s Crossroads and occupied Munson’s Hill, which provided a strategic vantage point over the surrounding region and a view straight into the heart of the capital.

Quality of Life:

Bailey’s Crossroads lives up to its name. It is centrally located to Arlington, Falls Church, Annandale and Alexandria (cross links). Residents have access to a wide range of amenities in this suburban hub. There are ample opportunities to experiment with cuisine from around the world. And for those looking to learn, Northern Virginia Community College’s Alexandria Campus (outside link) is just down the street.

Of course, no place in Fairfax County would be complete without a couple of parks. Munson Hill Park, Bailey’s Park and Lillian Carey Park offer some green peace of mind in the midst of a busy environment.

Route 7 and Columbia Pike are the major arteries that service Bailey’s Crossroads. Getting to and from any of the surrounding cities is easy. Route 395 provides convenient access to Pentagon City and Washington, D.C. Residents are approximately 10 – 15 minutes away from two METRO stations: East Falls Church (Orange Line) to the north and King Street Station (Blue/Yellow Line) to the south. METRO bus service has been improved over the years.
